The 'provenance' or home of Windsor Report, and the prospects of coming back to St. George's House as a group, prompted a 'blog'.

We spent quite some time, both in July 2003, and May 2004 thinking about 'Communion', and specifically what it means for us to be 'in communion'. In the light of the Windsor report, and at least a week to consider some of its content; is this a last ditch stand, with little hope of long-term unity? Or do you perhaps feel that there is a new potential to remain in communion.

One of my strongest memories of our time at St George's was someone saying (approximately) "as a liberal, I have always held unity as a key goal; but I now wonder if there are some issues where holding to a truth means that unity has to come second".

I still want to have both both unity and truth, but I wonder if some colleagues (probably abroad, first) will finally make it that for us as a communion, it is no longer possible to have this cake and keep it.

I have also added a link on the left to a page with a very few of the photos on it. If you click on any one then it will make it bigger, and allow you to click right and left through the rest.

And the video. OK, what a plonker. The one on that cd didn't work, did it. Sorry. I had managed to produced a video that didn't include the actual clips - but the links to them on my computer. I had even tested it on another computer at home, but as they were networked, it just connected up and went, completely convincing me of my brilliance. You know otherwise. I have corrected that, and there is a low resolution (that means writing illegible) version that you can acces by clicking the link to Video Short on the left. (It takes a while to get started, depending on the speed of oyur internet connection, but hopefully runs OK now.) I may well get round to sending it on another CD - when I have got some more.

Delighted others are mad enough to join in - but there is clearly a vaguery in the software that allows Simon's posting to appear to be claimed as one of mine. (In the "posted by" bit at the bottom, where they all seem to say Alastair Cutting, in error, whether they were or not...) This is a situation neither he, nor I, can reasonably tolerate; incase either of us were to say anything truly sensible on our own. I will look in to it, but not till after the Grand Prix season. (...later... in fact it was easier than I thought. Fixed it, and now you can't see what I was talking about...!) Incidentally, for all who subscribe to the Team Blog, all will be made 'Adminstrators', so we can all have equal access to tamper with the internals. More on the Settings tab in Blogger itself.


Personally, highest on my blogging mind, in the context of last July, is full of the Primates' Meeting this next week.

I know that much of our discussion at the time circulated around the ideas of unity, justice, orthodoxy, and scripture. Which, when they inter-react unto breaking point, which do we sacrifice first; or can the Primates manage to keep them all in the air at the same time - and for how long?

As John Plant said on finding this:

Feel that I've discovered previously undiscovered level of reality - what exactly is blogging? Sounds like I might find that it's prohibited in Leviticus ...

Hi folks. I have set this up as a place for jotting musings, and asking questions that might have been sparked by the July course. Please feel free to use it. It may be nobody does (or perhaps nobody can understand how or why...! in which case it can slowly die a death). On the other hand it could be a place of fervent ferment and continuing debate.

A blog, short for web log, is a sort of online jotting pad or diary. Anyone with web access can read a blog; it is simply an easy-to-add-in-to webpage system. This one is created in blogger.com and hosted on Blog*Spot and is free. The comments section is hosted on Haloscan.com, again for free.

You can add comments yourself to the existing entries simply by clicking on comments. However, by subscribing (free) to this particular Team Blog, you can add your own entries. To do this, you need to register with blogger.com and once you have your own free account, you can then include this amongst your list of favourite blogs (an even make some of your own).

The email address you put on the sheet that was distributed just after the course has been entered to make you a member of this Team Blog, so once you are blog registered, you can also contribute. If it is all too annoying for words, send Alastair Cutting ( acutting ampersand mac dot com ) an email requesting that you come off this particular emails list. I will also ask the St. George's House staff if they want 'in' too.
